JAKE MYERS, ASST. GENERAL MANAGER & TRAIN D1 DIRECTOR

As Assistant General Manager, Jake Myers manages all daily operations of Sono Field House, bringing his vast sports experience and physical training insight to the facility's athletic programs. Originally from San Diego, CA, Jake attended Torey Pines High School where he was a 4-time Varsity letterer and 4-Year starting Varsity lacrosse goalie, holding the title of Captain for his final two years on the team. Jake was also recognized as a 2-time All American and 3-time All County lacrosse player, as well as Senior Captain and 2-time Varsity letterer for his basketball team.  

Jake was the second player ever out of San Diego to be recruited to play Division 1 lacrosse at Syracuse University. During his time at Syracuse, Jake earned 2 Varsity letters and made a 2006 NCAA Final Four appearance, as well as a 2006 and 2007 NCAA Playoff appearances. Myers finished his undergraduate degree at Cornell University at the Hotel Administration School. During his lacrosse career at Cornell, Jake was a 3-time Varsity letterer. He made NCAA Playoff appearances in 2007, 2008, and 2009, and Final Four appearances in 2007 and 2009. Jake was also the 2009 NCAA Championship Runner Up and a 2009 All-Ivy League. Jake brings his lacrosse knowledge and athletic experience to Sono Field House with his involvement in both the lacrosse and Train D1 programs.

SFH ATHLETIC STAFF:

JEFF BRAMEIER, LACROSSE DIRECTOR

Mr. Brameier is the winningest active coach in the state of Connecticut and head coach of the Darien High School boys’ lacrosse team. He has accumulated over 413 wins in his 26 years of service. He has received Connecticut Coach of the Year honors on four separate occasions (1988, 1992, 1997, 1999). Mr. Brameier has coached 11 FCIAC and seven state championship teams, as well as 57 high school All-Americans and 97 All-State players. Also, Mr. Brameier has served as president of the Connecticut High School Lacrosse Coaches Association for 22 years. Additionally, he is the founder of Elite Sports Camps and the director of Future Star Sport Camps.

LISA GRISWOLD LINDLEY, GIRLS' LACROSSE DIRECTOR

Lisa brings her extensive knowledge and passion for lacrosse to Sono Field House as the head of girls’ lacrosse. Lisa Lindley is a 3 time All-American in Field Hockey at UMASS ’83,’85,’86. Lisa is also a 3 time All-American in Lacrosse at UMASS ’84, ’86, ;87. Lisa was a member of the 1989 US World Cup Lacrosse Team, and of the US Lacrosse Team from 1987-1992. Lisa served as a Graduate Assistant Lacrosse Coach at UMASS from ‘88-89. She also acted as Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Yale University from 1992 – 1993. Lisa is currently the Head Lacrosse Coach at Darien High School, where she has been leading her girls’ team to victory since 1994. During her tenure as coach, her team has won 10 FCIAC Championships as well as 10 State Championships. She has produced an impressive 40+ All American players and was named Coach of the Year in ‘97, ‘02, ’06, and ’09.

SCOTT BULKLEY, LACROSSE STAFF

Scott Bulkley is an integral part of the SFH Athletic Staff. Scott currently holds the Associate Head Coach position at Darien High School, where his team has won the past five Connecticut State Championships. Coach Bulkley is also the Head Coach of the CT Chargers U/18 Blue Team. He has coached 26 CT High School All-Americans and 4 CT Players of the Year. Coach Bulkley was the Captain of the University of North Carolina Lacrosse Team in '95, and a three-time ACC Lacrosse Champion. He is also a two-time NCCA Lacrosse Final Four player and has played professional box lacrosse for the MLL team Charlotte Cobras. Coach Bulkley is the first ever Lacrosse All-American from Darien High School.

STEPHANIE CALABRESE, LACROSSE STAFF

A life-long resident of Darien, Connecticut, Stephanie Calabrese comes to the SFH as co-facilitator/ head coach of our offered girls’ lacrosse clinics.  A three time letter winner in both field hockey and lacrosse, Stephanie graduated from Darien High School in 2000, where she was co-captain of Darien’s fifth consecutive state championship title team and sixth FCIAC title team.  A high school All-American in lacrosse on attack, Stephanie continued her lacrosse career at Roanoke College in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.  After graduating from Roanoke College with a BA in English in 2005, Steph finished her collegiate lacrosse career holding Rookie of the Year, All- ODAC, and All- East honors and was awarded “Player of the Week” recognition a handful of times with the Maroons.  She ranks in the top three in all of the offensive statistics in Roanoke Women’s lacrosse history.  During the regular season, Steph assists head coach Lisa Lindley at DHS and helped the Blue Wave bring home their tenth state title and FCIAC title in 2009.  She also is the head coach of the CT Chargers Gold team and has been for the past three summers.

MO MINICUS, FIELD HOCKEY DIRECTOR

Maureen "Mo" Minicus has recently signed as Field Hockey Director to lead Sono Field House's growing field hockey program. Mo will be responsible for creating the field hockey curriculum at SFH, as well as leading a team of experienced field hockey coaches in providing quality instruction at the youth and high school levels.  

Mo has coached at Darien High School since 2000 and currently serves as DHS' Head Varsity Field Hockey Coach. She has consistently led her team towards success, starting in 2003 when Darien's field hockey team became FCIAC Champions; Mo was awarded FCIAC and Class S Coach of the Year. She coached her team through an undefeated season in 2004, where they were the FCIAC and State Championship runners-up. In 2007 and 2008, Mo won FCIAC Coach of the Year and led the team to be the FCIAC and Class M State Champions.

Mo graduated from Williams College in 1990, after a four year athletic career as a varsity starter in both field hockey women's lacrosse. She was selected as an All-American in both field hockey and lacrosse. From 1990 - 1992, Mo served as a Graduate Assistant at Tufts University, where she received her Master's degree in education. During her time at Tufts, Mo was also an assistant coach for both the varsity field hockey and women's lacrosse programs.  Mo has also led teams to victory at Bowdoin College and Rye Country Day School.

ROB TRIFONE, FOOTBALL DIRECTOR

Coach Trifone ("T") brings 31 years of football experience and knowledge to Sono Field House. Trifone currently serves as Darien High School's head football coach, in addition to his position at Sono Field House. He is a 5-Time Football Coach of Year (1994, 1995, 2000, 2004 & 2008) including the Connecticut High School Coach of the Year in 2004 and the National Football Foundation Coach of the Year in 1994. In 31 years of coaching high school football Coach Trifone has an impressive .700 winning percentage. In 2008, Coach Trifone coached the Darien high school team to their first undefeated/untied regular season and all the way back to the Class M State Finals for the first time in 15 years. He has also worked with the youth football programs in Norwalk and Darien for the past 20 years to help develop the youth football curriculum.

JESSICA CLOW, ADVENTURE AREA DIRECTOR

Jessica Clow comes to the Sono Field House with an extensive background in teambuilding and adventure programming. A recreational therapist and certified challenge course instructor, Jessica has designed and facilitated teambuilding and adventure based curriculums for the past five years. As a trainer at the state and national level, she has taught the fundamentals of team cohesion and group dynamics to diverse audiences. A founding member of the University of New Haven women’s lacrosse program, Jessica eagerly combines her passion for athletics with her expertise in experiential learning as the Adventure Area Director of the Sono Field House.

IDRIS PRICE, HEAD TRAINER - TRAIN D1

Idris Price leads the Train D1 elite training and conditioning program at Sono Field House. Price attended Brien McMahon High School, graduating in 1995. During his time at McMahon, Price was a Varsity letter winner in lacrosse, football, and basketball, and a SuperPrep All-American in his senior year.  Following high school, Idris was  a Junior College All-American at Nassau Community College, and went on to University of New Haven, where he earned a degree in Communications and won an All-American title as the team's linebacker.

Price's professional career began when he signed with the New York Jets, moving on to the New England Patriots before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he earned a Super Bowl ring for the Super Bowl XXXVII win in 2003. Shortly thereafter, Price joined the Arena Football League as a member of the Orlando Predators in 2004, and went on to play for the Philadelphia Soul and the New York Dragons. Price has also played for the NFL's World League team in Europe, winning the World Bowl with the Frankfurt Galaxy in 2004. Idris is an AFFA and CPR certified Personal Trainer.

MARY KIERAN-MENDEZ, LIL' KICKERS DIRECTOR

Mary brings her diverse background in athletics and child development to the unique Lil’ Kickers program at Sono Field House.  As a varsity volleyball captain, Mary led her team to multiple wins and quickly learned the benefits of both leadership and team work. As head life-guard in Greenwich , Mary efficiently led a team of ten athletes for four consecutive seasons.  With a five year tenure as a swim coach for the YMCAH and a background in private swim instruction, Mary has shown her tremendous ability to instruct young children during their most important developmental years.  

LISA TARTAMELLA KIMMEL, SPORTS NUTRITIONIST

Lisa is a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics as well as an acclaimed published author of various nutrition-based pieces.  Lisa attended Southern Connecticut State University, receiving her MS in Exercise Physiology in 1999. She also graduated Summa cum Laude from James Madison University, where she earned her BS in Dietetics. Lisa also held a Dietetic Internship at the Yale-New Haven Hospital from 1992-1993. She has been recognized in Business Weekly in 2006 for the "40 under 40" Award for New Haven, CT, and was awarded a Masters Scholarship from the American College of Sports Medicine in 1998. Lisa was also recognized as Young Dietitian of the Year in 1997, and Outstanding Dietetics Student Award, 1994.

 

SFH CORPORATE & SPECIAL EVENT STAFF:

THOMAS E. SEILER, CORPORATE & SPECIAL EVENTS DIRECTOR

Tom Seiler signed on with Sono Field House in 2009 prior to the facility's opening. Tom is an integral part of the Corporate & Special Events team. He is a liason between companies, non-profits, and other organizations and is responsible for overseeing planning and execution for a variety of SFH events. Tom also remains highly involved in the athletic programming at SFH, including the Beacon Buddies program. Tom has been the President of the Darien Youth Lacrosse Program since 2005, which has approximately 1,200 members and is recognized as one of the best youth lacrosse programs in the United States.

MARY KIERAN-MENDEZ, CORPORATE & SPECIAL EVENTS DIRECTOR

Mary lends her experience in entertaining & special events to the Sono Field House team. Mary works with corporate clients and SFH Staff to plan and produce professional and unforgettable off-site meetings, team building sessions, and corporate parties. Mary also contributes her athletic experience to the team as the director of the Lil' Kickers soccer program.

STEPHANIE CALABRESE, CORPORATE SALES

Stephanie Calabrese joins SFH’s Corporate Sales Team as their new Sales Coordinator. Stephanie, a member of DHS’s class of 2000, graduated from Roanoke College in 2005 with a BA in English. Upon graduation, she relocated to Washington, D.C. to pursue a position with Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants with their pre-opening sales team as the Sales & Marketing Coordinator for Kimpton’s Hotel Palomar Washington, D.C. With two years sales experience, Stephanie became a Recruitment Manager for Kimpton’s nine properties in D.C. and Northern VA. Recruiting graduating seniors at the most prestigious hospitality management schools in the country, Stephanie pioneered the Management In-Training Program, currently used company-wide throughout North America. Moving back to Connecticut in 2007 to pursue her masters in School Counseling at Fairfield University, Stephanie worked for two years in the guidance department at Lauralton Hall in Milford, CT. Stephanie will be bringing her sales experience to assist the Sono Field House Corporate Sales team.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES AND FIELD TRIPS

AMANDA WILLIAMS, EVENT & PARTY COORDINATOR

Amanda Williams comes to Sono Field House with a background in group sales & events at a sports arena. With this firsthand knowledge, Amanda leads SFH Event and Party programs, including birthday parties, adult parties, and other special events . Amanda oversees scheduling, catering, activity planning, and day-of-event coordination for all SFH parties, down to the last detail. Amanda graduated from Sacred Heart University in 2009 with a degree in Sports Management and Finance. At Sacred Heart, Amanda lead the Women's Lacrosse Team to two championships and was also named Player of the Year in 2009. In her spare time, Amanda lends her athletic talents to Sono Field House as an assisant coach for girls' lacrosse.
