Lisa Griswold Lindley - Director of Girls Lacrosse

Lisa brings her extensive knowledge and passion for lacrosse to Sono Field House as the head of girls’ lacrosse. Lisa Lindley is a 3 time All-American in Field Hockey at UMASS ’83,’85,’86. Lisa is also a 3 time All-American in Lacrosse at UMASS ’84, ’86, ;87. Lisa was a member of the 1989 US World Cup Lacrosse Team, and of the US Lacrosse Team from 1987-1992. She has coaching experience at all levels, serving as a Graduate Assistant Lacrosse Coach at UMASS from ‘88-89. She also acted as Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Yale University from 1992 – 1993. Lisa is currently the Head Lacrosse Coach at Darien High School, where she has been leading her girls’ team to victory since 1994. During her tenure as coach, her team has won 10 FCIAC Championships as well as 11 State Championships. She has produced an impressive 40+ All American players and was named Coach of the Year in ‘97, ‘02, ’06,’09 and '11.

Jeff Brameier - Director of Darien Boys Lacrosse

Born and raised in Darien, CT, Coach Brameier heads into his 29th season at the helm of the Darien High School Boy’s Lacrosse program where he has guided his teams to a won-loss record of 451-119, winning 12 FCIAC League Championships and 8 State Championships including  6 in a row from 2005-2010.  A 3 letter winner in football, basketball and baseball, Jeff graduated from the University of Connecticut, Magna Cum Laude, in 1977 with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education & Health.  He began teaching at Darien High School the following fall.   With one of the most impressive win-loss records in the state, Jeff has the most wins of any active coach in Connecticut and is currently ranked 2nd all-time in wins.  He has coached 62 high school All-Americans and 103 high school All-State players and has received the honor of Connecticut Lacrosse Coach of the Year five times.  Jeff was recently inducted into the Connecticut Lacrosse Hall of Fame Class of 2011.  He has also served as President of the Connecticut High School Lacrosse Coaches Association for the past 24 years and has been a presenter on both the national and regional level at multiple conventions.  In addition, he is the FCIAC Lacrosse Coordinator for both boys and girls.  In his off season, Jeff built and runs the premier Connecticut Chargers Lacrosse Club program which began 6 years ago. Under Jeff’s leadership, Chargers has grown into one of the elite club teams in the country.  The program currently has 11 boy’s teams and 10 girl’s teams ranging from grades 6th-12th and hosts a very successful mid-summer tournament.  As Boys Lacrosse Director at Sono Field House, Jeff has established this facility as one of the top indoor instructional and competitive lacrosse sites in New England, housing instructional clinics, league play, showcase tournaments and special events.

Amy Alvord:

Amy started her lacrosse career in Simsbury, CT and played midfield at William Smith College in Geneva, NY. Amy helped lead the Lady Herons to the NCAA Final Four all 4 years at William Smith College.  A 3x All-American, Amy moved to Germany  in 2003 to assist in starting a womens lacrosse program and was a pivotal part in bringing them to 3 back to back National Championships.   In addition to coaching youth and high school clinics during the off season at Sono Field House, Amy also coaches with the Westport PALS youth program in Westport, CT.

Steph Calabrese:

Currently the Assistant General Manager and Director of Sports Programming at SFH, Stephanie is closely involved with all sports programming at the field house, especially the girls’ lacrosse programs at SFH.  A three time letter winner in both field hockey and lacrosse, Steph graduated from Darien High School in 2000, where she was co-captain of Darien’s fifth consecutive state championship title team and sixth FCIAC title team.  A high school All-American, Steph continued her lacrosse career at Roanoke College in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.  After graduating from Roanoke College with a BA in English in 2005, Steph finished her collegiate lacrosse career holding Rookie of the Year, All- ODAC, and All- East honors and was awarded “Player of the Week” recognition a handful of times with the Maroons.  She has record holdings in all of the offensive statistics in Roanoke Women’s lacrosse history.

Molly Crosland:

A native of Chester County, PA, Molly is a former Division I All-American midfielder from Lehigh University.  After college, Molly helped launch Georgia Tech University Women's Lacrosse program and earned the Southeast Women's Lacrosse League's Coach of the Year award.  She's played internationally and has officiating experience.  In the past, she's worked with Brien McMahon's lacrosse team.

Courtney Calabrese DePeter:

Courtney started her lacrosse career playing low attack for Darien High School under Lisa Lindley.  A 4 year starter and senior captain for the Blue Wave, Courtney helped DHS claim 3 consecutive FCIAC championships and 2 consecutive CT State Championships in 1996 and 1997.  She received All- County, All- State and All- American honors.  A member of the 1st ever recruitment class at University of Notre Dame, Courtney was a pivotal part of the Irish’s attacking unit. Nominated captain her junior at ND, Courtney finished as 1 of the Irish’s leading scorers and point holders. A native of Darien, Courtney was Darien’s Junior Varsity coach for a year prior to receiving her Varsity Head Coach position at Covant of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich, CT and where she also teaches 4th grade.  She is entering her 7th season with the Tigers and won her first FAA Championship in 2011, as well as Connecticut Coach of the Year honors (sharing the award with Lisa Lindley). In the summer, Courtney is the Head Coach of CT Chargers Rising Seniors and has been for the past 5 years.

Kerri Iorfino:

A native of Mount Holly, NJ, Kerri comes to Sono Field House with amazing personal lacrosse playing experience and an abundance of coaching experience.  A pivotal member of the Division III College of New Jersey National Championship teams in ’91 and ‘92, she was a First Team All-American defender from 1990 – 1992. Kerri is the Assistant Head Coach at Darien High School and has been since 1994.  She has been a key component in helping the Blue Wave bring home 11 state championships and 10 FCIAC championships.  Additionally, Kerri has been a key part of the CT Chargers coaching staff for the past 5 years.

Amanda Mastera:

With over a decade of lacrosse experience as both a player and a coach, Amanda has immense passion for the sport of lacrosse and its players. Amanda graduated from New Canaan High school in 2004 where she was the rams starting Varsity goalie. Coach Mastera then earned a scholarship to play Division II lacrosse at Regis University in Denver, CO. In 2006 Amanda was the Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach of Evergreen High school in Colorado, where she trained and build a new lacrosse team. In 2009, Amanda was the Goalie Coach of Greenwich High School's lacrosse program. During the 2010 and 2011 lacrosse seasons Coach Mastera served as the Assistant Varsity Coach of the Greenwich High School team. During this past 2011 her team won the class L Connecticut State Championship! In addition to coaching in Greenwich, Amanda is also a Head Coach of the elite Connecticut Chargers travel team. During this past 2011 summer, her Chargers team went undefeated at the Capital Cup Tournament in Richmond, Virginia. Specializing in defensive coordination, shooting technique and goalie training, Amanda Mastera returns to Greenwich High School in her third year as the Assistant Varsity Coach.

Laura Matturro:

Laura is a former stand out defender at Sacred Heart University where she was a part of the first NEC Championship win in the programs history!  Before moving to CT, she coached for Smithtown, NY  youth programs as well as one of Long Islands elite summer programs, Long Island Express.  In addition to coaching at SFH, Laura also participates in coaching the Westport youth programs and is a certified woman's lacrosse referee.

Megan Murphy:

Megan, a 2003 graduate of Gettysburg College with a degree in history, was a member of the Gettysburg Women’s Lacrosse team named a two-time IWLCA National All-American, three-time Regional All-American, three-time All-Conference player, Conference Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year by Inside Lacrosse Magazine. A Wilton, CT, native, Megan was a 12-time letter winner in soccer, basketball, tennis and lacrosse at Wilton High School. Since college, Megan has coached for the English Lacrosse Association in Manchester, England, and worked as Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. Megan is currently employed by Direct Fundraising and is the Head Coach for Weston High School girls lacrosse program where after only 1 season under her heac coaching position, brought home the first ever, Connecticut Class S State Championship plaque.  Megan is also very involved in the girls lacrosse youth programs in Wilton and Weston.

Caitlin Young:

Caitlin graduated from Wilton High School where she was a four year letter winner in basketball and lacrosse and was part of the Warriors’ FCIAC championship team in 2004, and 2005 and their state championship team in 2004. She ended her career with All-FCIAC, All-State, and All-American accolades. Caitlin continued on to play lacrosse at the University of North Carolina. In her four years there, the Tarheels made it to the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament in each of her first three seasons, while making it to the National Championship game in 2009. She received the team’s Most Improved Award after her freshman year, and the Class of 1996 Award her senior year. Caitlin finished her eligibility at Fairfield University while attending her first year of graduate school. In the 2009-10 season she led the nation in caused turnovers with 2.5, as well as being named Defensive Player of the Week, All-MAAC 1st team, and IWLCA North Region Second Team All-America. She has coached various club teams including NEWLax, XTeam, CTLax, and Nor’easter the past four years.

Sono Field House Boys Lacrosse Coaching Staff

Dan Arestia:

Dan grew up and played his youth and high school lacrosse in New Canaan, CT, beginning in 3rd grade.  He played all 4 years of high school for Howard Benedict, and graduated in 2002, having won a state title in 2001.  He went on to play college lacrosse for Brian Silcott at Trinity College.  He began coaching at the youth level in New Canaan several years ago, coaching both 7th and 8th grade A-teams in that time.  He found his way to the CT Chargers in 2008 and has coached both blue and gold teams in multiple grade levels.  He began coaching for DYLAX in Darien in 2011, assisting with the 8th grade A team.  Currently, Dan works for the Fairfield Public School system and is a varsity assistant at Darien High School.

Jackson Kiniry:

Jackson Kiniry is a New Canaan native.  He attended one year at NCHS before going to play at the Peddie School where he was a multiple time All-State Attackman in New Jersey. Jackson attended Butler University where he continued his lacrosse career. Jackson has been active in the coaching ranks at Greenwich High School Varsity team and throughout the New Canaan youth program, coaching New Canaan's 7th and 8th grade teams posting winning regular seasons and strong showings in the CONNY Championships. The past two summers, Jackson has been the head coach of the U-13 Connecticut Charger All-Star team achieving a great deal of success.

Bobby Lutz:

With over fifteen years of teaching and coaching experience, Coach Lutz brings an immense amount of lacrosse knowledge to Sono Field House.  He is the defensive coordinator in his fifth year as an assistant at Darien High School, where he has helped the Blue Wave win three state and two FCIAC championships.  After graduating from Fordham University, Coach Lutz spent eight years as an assistant coach at New Canaan High School, working directly under his former coach and mentor, Howard Benedict.  He spent two years as an associate head coach at Stamford High School where he currently teaches English.  He has coached over nineteen All- Americans, fifty All-State players, and two CT Players of the Year.  Lutz also coaches with the Darien Youth program where he helped lead the 5th grade team to a CONNY championship.  During the off season he plays a pivotal role as part of the CT Chargers coaching staff.

Paul Burke

Paul Burke has served as a head coach and an assistant coach of boys lacrosse in Fairfield County for a total of twenty-one years.  All of those 21 years were with the premier programs in the state; Darien, New Canaan, and Greenwich.  On two occasions Connecticut coaches selected Paul Connecticut Class L Coach of the Year, and Coach of the Year for all classes once.  Paul’s teams have participated in five state championships and seven Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference championships as well.  In 2008 Paul recorded his 100th victory as a head coach.  The fact of which he his most proud however is that he spends a great deal of time assisting players in the college selection and recruiting process.  In the 2010 season, more than twenty of Paul’s former players were competing at the collegiate level, half of them were at Division I schools such as Princeton, Virginia, Colgate, Bucknell and Virginia.  Paul has coached with the Connecticut Charger program since the program’s inception and does a number of clinics at Sono Field House.

Christian Garnett

Christian is a lacrosse coach, football coach, and trainer at the Sono Field House. He played lacrosse and football at Brown University, earning two lacrosse varsity letters as a close defenseman in two years, and contributing to the team’s 2nd place Ivy League finish in 2002 before concentrating on football. Christian attended Darien High School and helped lead the Blue Wave to FCIAC and State Lacrosse Championship titles in 2000 as an All-FCIAC Second Team defenseman and Connecticut All-Star Team selection. In 2011, Christian returned to his high school alma mater as assistant coach of JV lacrosse and freshman football. He also served as assistant coach for the CT Chargers 2013 class summer team. In 2005, Christian was assistant varsity lacrosse coach and defensive coordinator for Loyola High School in Los Angeles. He has extensive experience coaching youth and high school lacrosse players at camps, clinics, and individually. As a football player, Christian started for 3 years as a defensive lineman for Brown University and served as Captain in 2003. He lead the Bears in tackles for a loss and the defensive line in tackles in 2002. In high school, Christian captained the team as a senior and helped lead the Blue Wave to Connecticut State finals for 3 consecutive years as an Honorable Mention All-State, two-time First Team All-League player named to the Connecticut All-Star Team.

Danny Marin

Danny Marin attended to Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk CT. He was a high
school stand out athlete in soccer and lacrosse. As a freshman he made the soccer
varsity team and the lacrosse JV team. Sophomore year he was a varsity player for
both sports. . On his last year at Brien McMahon Danny was awarded with the All
Fairfield County player in Soccer. Senior year he started as a defensive midfielder
for lacrosse. He was known for his speed and athleticism. Danny was also a member
of the Norwalk Strikers, who were State Cup champions in 2005.
Danny Marin joined our coaching staff in February 2010. He has been a great
coach for little kickers and little laxers. He loves coaching with young kids and
teaching the fundamentals of the sport. He has coached for Max Seibalds and Coach
Bremier summer camps. Danny is known for his enthusiasm and love to coach kids.
